I have always loved anything handmade. I love the fact that the designer's
passion, creativity and care have been put into each and every piece,
and each piece has a story to tell.

I originally trained as a Graphic designer and spent several years working
for design studios. With the birth of my children I saw an opportunity to
redirect my creativity and what originally started as a hobby making pieces
for friends and family has grown into an obsession!

When I started making jewellery I was particularly attracted to glass lampwork beads. Lampwork or Flamework beads are made one at a time using
glass rods melted in the flame of a gas torch. I love the colours and textures
of the glass beads which fed my inspiration for bright and unusual jewellery.
This led onto fused glass, a technique that layers glass that is then melted
(or fused) together in a kiln at a extremely high temperatures.

I took a taster course on fusing glass and that was it - I was hooked.
I bought my first kiln and haven't looked back since.

After firing, opening the kiln is an amazing feeling, a combination of
fear and excitement. Until you have opened the lid you don't know
how the firing has gone and how the pieces have turned out.
My glass beads are sourced from unusual suppliers, I never buy in bulk,
this unique, never to be repeated aspect of my jewellery is very important to me.

I work from my home studio in South Northamptonshire and as well as having an on-line shop I also attend craft fairs and events in the area.
